ROCESSING OF RETURNS FOR A.Y. 2007-08 - DIFFICULTIES BEING FACED IN PROCESSING ITR-5 RETURNS IN CITIES WHERE REFUND BANKER SCHEME IS OPERATIONAL
INSTRUCTION NO. 14/2008, DATED 1-10-2008
Kindly refer to the above. It has come to the notice of the Board that in the cities where the refund banker scheme is currently operational, the assessing officers are facing difficulty in processing ITR-5 returns (combined Form for return of income and fringe benefits for firms / association of persons / body of individuals), which contain an FBT component, due to some technical problem. As the number of such cases is not very large, it has been decided that for the assessment year 2007-08, such cases may be processed manually.
