FAQ :

Companies whose financial year ended on 31st December 2019 can hold their AGM by 30th September 2020.

The deadline has been extended due to difficulties in holding AGMs caused by COVID-19 related social distancing norms and restrictions.

This extension applies to companies whose financial year (other than their first financial year) ended on 31st December 2019.

The Companies Act, 2013 generally allows companies to hold their AGM within six months from the closure of the financial year.

No, holding the AGM by 30th September 2020 will not be viewed as a violation of the Companies Act, 2013.
