FAQ :
These regulations apply to new importers, exporters, and Customs Brokers engaging in import or export activity after the commencement of these regulations. The Commissioner of Customs may also select individuals who were active before the commencement date.
Required documents include incorporation documents (like partnership deeds, LLP agreements, MOUs, Articles of Association), proof of authorised signatories, Permanent Account Number (PAN), GST Identification Number (GSTIN), and documents evidencing financial standing such as bank statements or Income Tax Returns.
After submission, individuals must undergo Aadhaar authentication and PAN verification on the Common Portal. A physical verification of the principal place of business may also be conducted within 45 days.
Failure to comply can result in the suspension or denial of customs benefits. A penalty not exceeding fifty thousand rupees may also be imposed.
Yes, a person aggrieved by an order passed by the Commissioner of Customs under these regulations may prefer an appeal to the Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal.
Yes, the regulations do not apply to the Central Government, State Governments, and Public Sector Undertakings.
