FAQ :
These are new rules introduced by the Indian Government to amend the existing Customs Tariff (Identification and Assessment of Safeguard Duty) Rules, 1997.
The amendment rules came into force on the 2nd of February, 2021.
The main change is the substitution of the word "Duty" with the word "Measures" in sub-rule (1) of rule 1 of the principal rules.
Rule 1, sub-rule (1) of the Customs Tariff (Identification and Assessment of Safeguard Duty) Rules, 1997 has been amended.
