36th National Convention of Company Secretaries to be held in Goa

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the Premier National Professional body constituted under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 for developing and regulating the profession of Company Secretaries in India, is organizing its 36th National Convention of Company Secretaries from Thursday November 6, 2008 to Saturday November 8, 2008 at Campal, Panaji, Goa. The theme will be: ‘Achieving Excellence through Innovation’. The Convention seeks to make an in-depth analysis of the theme by deliberating it in five technical sessions as under:

·         Embracing Emerging Technologies for Quantum Growth

·         Unlocking Stakeholder Value Through Restructuring

·         Innovative Financing Opportunities in the Global Capital Market

·         Safeguarding Innovation – Management of IPRs

·         The Changing Role of Regulators in Fostering Innovation

Dr. Shivinder Singh Sidhu, Governor of Goa, will be the Chief Guest at the Inauguration of the Convention on Thursday, the November 6th. Shri Dattaraj V Raj Salgaocar, Managing Director of V M Salgaocar Group of Companies will be the  Guest Of Honour. Shri R Gopalakrishnan, Executive Director, Tata Sons, will deliver the Keynote address at the inaugural session of the event.

A special session on Companies Bill, 2008 and Limited Liability Partnership Bill will also be held on the very first day i.e., 6th November at 5.00 PM. Shri Jitesh Khosla, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs will address this SPECIAL SESSION.

About 1000 delegates including  Managing Directors, CEOs, Directors, Executive  Directors, Senior Executives, practising professionals in secretarial, financial, legal and management disciplines including Company Secretaries from India, and Presidents / CEO’s of    Company Secretaries Institutes  from Hong Kong, Malaysia, United Kingdom,  Zambia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Mauritius, Kenya etc., would be participating in the Convention. Eminent persons from the Government and industry, including professionals and management experts will address the participants and there would be brainstorming sessions and interactions.
