Inviting suggestions for Elections Reforms - Constitution of Elections Reforms Committee
As you are aware, the Elections to the 11th Council and four Regional Councils of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India were held in 2010 in accordance with the Company Secretaries (Election to the Council) Rules, 2006 read with the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 and the Company Secretaries Regulations, 1982. The elections to the Managing Committees to the Chapters were also held recently in terms of the Company Secretaries Chapter Guidelines, 1983.
During the course of Elections, it was felt by some of the contesting candidates and members of the Institute that the provisions of the aforesaid Rules, Act, Regulations, Chapter Guidelines and other applicable provisions if any, pertaining to Elections needed to be examined for reforms in the Election process.
Accordingly, the Council of the Institute at its 200th meeting held on 18th March, 2011 considered the matter and constituted Elections Reforms Committee comprising of the following members for suggesting reforms in the Elections to the Council/ Regional Councils/ Chapters of the Institute.
