ICAI Announces Requirements for Applying for CA Foundation & Intermediate May 2025 Exams

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued important guidelines for candidates applying for the May 2025 CA exams. Aspiring Chartered Accountants must ensure their eligibility and complete the necessary formalities through ICAI's Self Service Portal (SSP) before submitting their exam applications.

Key Requirements for May 2025 CA Exams

1. SSP Login Credentials Candidates must have valid SSP login credentials. If not, they must create an account at eservices.icai.org.

2. Course Registration Status

   • Ensure your course registration is active.
   • Candidates whose registration has lapsed must complete the conversion process to the latest course structure before applying.
   • Course codes for the new structure:
     • Intermediate: NEWINT23 or CONINT23
     • Foundation: NEWFND23 or CONFND23

3. Photo & Signature Update

   • Candidates must upload a clear photograph and signature that meet ICAI's specifications.
   • Photos should be in color or black & white with an 80% visible face against a white background.
   • Signatures must be in black ink on a white sheet and scanned properly.

4. Group-Wise Registration for Intermediate Candidates

   • Candidates must verify that they are registered for the correct exam groups via SSP.

5. Corrections & Support

Eligibility Criteria for ICAI May 2025 Exams

Foundation Course

• Must be registered in the Foundation Course on or before January 1, 2025.
• Candidates converting from CPT to Foundation must ensure their conversion is completed before submitting the exam form.
• Must have either:
  • Appeared for the Class 12 board exam (Admit Card upload required) or
  • Passed Class 12 (Marksheet upload required).

Intermediate Course

• Candidates must have completed eight months of study before May 1, 2025.
• The last date for registration under the Intermediate Course is September 1, 2024.

Important Notes for Applicants

• Ensure all data on SSP is updated to meet the eligibility criteria.
• ICAI has specified strict guidelines for uploading photos and signatures-candidates must adhere to them to avoid application rejections.
• Exam forms will be available online, and timely submission is essential to avoid last-minute hassles.
