FAQ :

A new 'Automated Drop Proceedings' functionality has been implemented on the GST Portal for GSTINs that were suspended due to non-filing of returns.

This functionality is for taxpayers who have filed all their pending returns, whether monthly (6 returns) or quarterly (2 returns).

If you have filed all pending returns, the system will automatically drop the proceedings and revoke the suspension of your GSTIN.

If your GSTIN status doesn't automatically update to 'ACTIVE' after filing, you should navigate to 'Services > User Services > View Notices and Orders > Initiate Drop Proceeding' on the GST Portal to revoke the suspension.

If the system doesn't automatically drop proceedings or you are unable to revoke the suspension by clicking 'Initiate Drop Proceeding', you should contact your Jurisdictional Officer.

No, this functionality is specifically applicable to taxpayers whose GSTINs have been suspended after 1st December 2022.
