The CBDT observed the 163rd anniversary of Income Tax Day.
Events included taxpayer outreach, felicitation programmes, donations to orphanages, blood donation camps, medical and vaccination camps, tree plantation drives, and cultural programmes.
The Finance Minister noted that recent reforms have ensured a trust-based tax system, which has been vindicated by improved tax collections and an increase in filed Income Tax Returns.
