Auditors not attending the appeals challenging the audit classification during the course of statutory audit



FOR THE INFORMATION OF FIRMS/ MEMBERS ON THE PANEL OF AUDITORS AS MAINTAINED BY THE COOPERATIVE DEPARTMENT. 

We are enclosing herewith letter No. 1113 Dt. 22.12.2011 issued by the Cooperative Department, Maharashtra.

As per the said letter some banks have filed an appeal  against the audit classification given during the course of statutory audit for the F.Y. 2010-11. As per the procedure the concerned auditor is also required to be present for the hearing in cases of such appeals. But as per the said letter the auditors are not attending the appeals even after prior notice is given by the Cooperative Department.

The Cooperative Department has informed to WIRC to intimate the auditors that they are requested to attend the hearing on the predetermined date otherwise their names will be removed from the panel of auditors.
