Job Description: Head of Accounts & Finance
Location: Hyderabad
Employment Type: Full-Time
Joining: Within 15–30 Days Preferred
Experience: Minimum 5 Years (in a similar role within Companies; preference for candidates who are part of OR have led finance teams rather than only worked in audit/accounting firms)

We are a fast-growing fintech company building reliable, technology-driven financial solutions. As we scale, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Head of Accounts & Finance to set up, lead, and manage our finance function from the ground up. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to grow with the organisation and build a strong team and processes.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance Operations
Lead and build the Accounts & Finance team from scratch.
Full responsibility for day-to-day accounting, book preparation and maintenance.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of GST, TDS, and other statutory filings.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage receivables, payables, cash flow, and working capital.
Compliance & Regulatory
Ensure compliance with taxation laws, Companies Act, and all regulatory requirements relevant to fintech.
Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and statutory bodies as needed.
Implement internal controls and ensure financial discipline across the organisation.

Analysis & Reporting

Conduct detailed ledger and bank reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and variance analysis.
Provide actionable insights to leadership through MIS reporting, dashboards, and financial analysis.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Systems & Process Management
Implement and optimize ERP systems such as Tally (mandatory) and other finance tools.
Create and streamline SOPs for accounting, invoicing, expense management, and approvals.
Introduce automation and efficiency improvements wherever possible.
Creating and handling purchase orders, accounts payable and receivable
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Hire, mentor, and nurture the finance team.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (operations, product, compliance, management).
Drive a culture of ownership, accuracy, and accountability.

Mandatory Requirements

Education: Minimum B.Com; higher qualifications (M.Com, MBA Finance, CA Inter, CMA Inter, etc.) are a strong plus.
Experience: At least 5 years of genuine experience including leadership responsibilities in corporate finance/accounting teams. (in a similar role within Companies; preference for candidates who have led finance teams rather than only worked in audit/accounting firms)

Nice-to-Have / Good-to-Have Skills

Experience working in fintech, startups, or high-growth environments.
Exposure to accounting automation tools, payment systems, or reconciliation platforms used in fintech.
Understanding of RBI/financial compliance applicable to fintech (if relevant).
Experience in fundraising, investor reporting, or due-diligence support.
Knowledge of payroll processing, ESOP accounting, and employee reimbursements.
Ability to interpret financial data for strategic decision-making.
Prior experience interacting with founders / CXOs.
