Zero income ITR
my son was doing job last year so he files ITR showing income as salary..in 2017 April he quit job and gone for higher studies abroad with education loan ...hence having no income ...is it mandatory to file ITR for AY. 18-19 for zero income and is it possible to file ITR with zero income ...pl guide

should he file ITR to avoid notices from income tax department in coming year when he again having salaried income
At anytime same reply exists, 'when aggregate income doesn't exceed maximum amount not chargeable to tax, return is not mandatory to file.'
The sutra is to be analysed for each assessment year, independently ....
There is no linking of any previous or following year/s......
