I just downloaded the excel utility today on 8th July 2017 (PR4) for ITR 2, filled up the return and generated the XML. While uploading, I am continuously getting error - XML Invalid. Generate XML using latest utility. How can that be when I downloaded the utility and hour ago? What is the resolution for this.

can u pls post full error msg. I might have solution for this. Another way is to write to IT dept and they will update the Excel. Another user had reported XML error as well where dept updated the Excel promptly on his reporting.
I already wrote to the department. Waiting for a response from them. The exact message is "Invalid XML. PLease generate XML again using the latest utility".

Somedays back I had noticed that XML created by Java utility was missing following line. <BankDtlsFlag>Y</BankDtlsFlag>
I added it above <PriBankDetails> and it worked for me.

In case not, feel free to share the problematic X M L with after removing the personal details. I can look into it.
Reviewed the XML. This specific line is already there. Seems some other issue.

I just verified the X M L and it is absolutely correct as per the requirements published (Schema of ITR Forms for AY 2017-18) by ITR department. Most probably it is a problem in their X M L accepting server. Nothing much can be done on this, dept will have to fix their servers.
I wrote to them and they gave back a standard answer "Use new file, Don't copy paste etc."...useless response. In fact I downloaded the latest PR5 release today, generated the XML and again got the same error. Don't understand what is wrong. I can't even use the JAVA online utility as it is not available for IT2. What is the solution now?
Can understand your frustration Vikas. However I just checked, the Java utility for ITR2 is available 'ITR-2_AY201718_PR4.jar', updated 13-Jul-2017. I just downloaded it 5 mins back.
