What should I do now? I am an NRI, but by mistake I filed my Income Tax Return as an indian resident. My Income Tax Return was accepted by IT department and I also recieved a refund from them. How can I correct this mistake. Can I file a revised return now ?

Quick Summary
An NRI has mistakenly filed their Income Tax Return (ITR) as an Indian resident for AY 2023-24, and the return has been accepted with a refund issued. They are seeking advice on how to rectify this error. The general consensus is to file a revised return under Section 139(5) of the Income Tax Act, potentially changing the ITR form from 1 to 2.
