Dear Friends,
I have quoted wrong TAN in challans from past 18 months, the TAN which i have quoted it is invalid, it doesn't belong to any other person, still the bank has accepted the payments.
What can I do to rectify the mistake. please help me out, its urgent.

Hi,
At the time of e-filing of TDS Return do mention the right TAN and intimate the concerned authority that all the tax remittance were made under wrong TAN for which u have to provide the supporting documents.
Since the Tax remitted would have been credited to the PAN quoted it wouldn't cause much problem.
Bring this issue to the IT Dept.
Do let me know for any clarifications.
