Quick Summary
If you've filed your ITR 1 and accidentally entered incorrect self-assessment tax details like the BSR code or CIN number, don't worry. You can usually correct this by filing a revised return before your original return is processed by the tax department. If your return has already been processed, you'll need to file a rectification application with the Assessing Officer. It's advisable to act quickly to resolve any tax credit mismatches.

You can file revised return if it's not yet processed...else rectification application to be filed to AO with supporting dox...but best you file revised return asap...enter ack of orginal ITR and keep all things handy with you...
Do rectification for tax credit mismatch only ..

Since mistake is in return and not in payment, it can be resolved through rectification
Rectification can be done only after process of ITR by dept and getting intimation from A.O.while Revised return can be filed before that ...
Now a days ITR is getting processed in a day
Rectification can be done easily.
Whether CIN No./ BSR can also be modified in Rectification request or only AY/ Major Head / Minor head can be changed?
Yes..Tax credit mismatch has option to add challan details
