hello friends, can anyone tell me how do I rectify an error of quoting wrong assessment year in form no. 281 while making e-payment?

Right a letter to respective AO and intimate him about the wrong AY.
then file ur 26Q for the concerned AY and if their is any inconsistency shown in NSDL records then you can provide this letter to the NSDL and ur problem will be taken care of

yes piyush is correct, you will have to ask the assessee to write a letter addressing AO stating that an oversight has occured while making the payment and request him to adjust the payment for the correct assessment year.
