Why the department is sending refund cheques instead of ECS, when the assesses have opted for ECS in return and provided all the correct details. Some refunds are issued through ECS and some through Cheque Mode.
Whats criteria the department is setting if anyone is having any idea ?
Refund through cheque mode if very undesirable , which involves 10-20 days process.
"sometimes department is unable to process refund through ecs due to some technical problems or mismatch of data." i received this answer when i called the helpline no. last year. they did not give any proper explanation
