Well, CS is not inferior but CA covers a vast range of subjects more then CS.... but Honestly, 3.5 years is a bit too much.... 30 months is enough.............

i agree

2.5 yrs is enuf

actually this is bcaz of difference in their cource. CA cource is much vast than CS so CA student require more time to learn.

It is not the issue of vast portion, even CS are responsible for several legal compliances , I don't know ICAI logic behind 3 years articalship but ICSI 's dec regarding 15 months management training is correct as within 15months we get the idea about all annual statutory routine compaliances as it covers period between two AGM in which student can actully handel all quarterly compliances along with AGM preparation .

To Purnima

Be very cautious while making adverse comment about a reputed profession. Who are you to decide that CA Course is much vast than CS? I can give million of examples in different areas ( specially in securities market- both primary and secondary market, Corporate Governance, Corporate Laws e.t.c) where CS has vast coverage and CA has NIL coverage. similarly in some areas CA has vast coverage( finance related subjects) and CS has less coverage. Both the courses are equally good in their respective fields and any derogatory comment like yours should be strongly condemned by the members of both the Institutes.

To Prodyut Banerjee.............. Everyone has a right to opinion and purnima was expressing hers..... Whether CA portion is vast or not becomes a subjective matter of debate..... Out of the total people of this community, I bet more then 75 % think Ca is more vast then CS.........
Yes...! CA is Vast when compared to CS...!

CA is more vast than cs

but i think  2 years of article ship is enough

m doin both d courses..n both r quite vast..it depends on a person's approach, how he/she takes it...bt d discussion is anyways on articleship..n 2 yrs r more dan enuf 2 learn..3.5 is 2 much..

Really 3.5 year training is too much for a CA student. I have seen many student are doing dummy articleship...

As far as area is concerned both the courses have their own coverage. I would suggest don't compare them with each other.

To Mr. Cool,

You need to work out on your attitude and avoid making such comments on this site about any profession.

Do remember one thing---- "Sabhi Professionals ki Jai Ho....."

I also urge you all to avoid making comments on such kind of thoughtless questions.  Thanks

ca institute thinks that students under it are slaves it does not treat them as future prof.

its consideration is that it should get cheap labour to all its present members

thats so simple

too correct man . we need a abraham linclon

Expression of thought is a fundamental right which is guaranteed under the Constitution of India but at the same it is subject to certain conditions which inter alia contain that a statement should not be derogatory to any person or community otherwise this right is not available. May be you can read the thinking of people that you have betted 75 % majority (No comments on this!!!!!!!!!) in favour of your statement and statement of Purnima. However I have taken opinion from some veteran persons (belonging to both the professions) and they have suggested me not to take this statement into account as the same might be the result of immaturity. Once you complete CA and gain some more experience you will come to know that such type of statement is not only unethical but the same is adverse for the profession of Chartered Accountants as well(I believe my CA friends will agree with me). Any way since the discussion is about the training period and not regarding Course Coverage (that came in to picture by the way and can be a good topic for debate and discussion under different subject heading), I am not going to place any comparative analysis of both the courses to prove that the CS Curriculam coverage is at par, if not above par, with CA Curriculam.

However, I believe that 3.5 years articleship is too much and it should be reduced to 1.5 years to 2 years.
