Who has to attest ? urgent

The procedure for attestation can be found in the help file of DIN-1 form, kindly refer to point 13-14:- Attestation of documents which states:-

“In case, the director is residing outside India, then the attached supporting documents should be attested by the Consulate of the Indian Embassy, Foreign public notary or Company secretary in full time employment / CEO / Managing director of the Indian company in which he / she proposed to be a director.”

Even for the National Residents, Practicing CA, CS or CWA can not attest the physical documents of Director. The documents are required to be attested by the Director himself i.e. self attested and the E Form DIN 1 is to be digitally certified by the Professional.

And in case of Foreign National, NRI, the documets are to be attested by any of the following:

1. Either through the Consulate of the Indian Embassy or Foreign public notary where the Foreign National Director resides

2. Or through the Whole time company secretary/CEO/ Managing Director of the company, in which the Director whose DIN is to be obtained, is going to appoint.
