Which itr to use

There is interest income from saving bank account and interest income from FD, very small amount of salary from pvt job. (four months Apr to Jul 2017), TDS deducted from interest income from FD. Was in India from 2015 till left India in mid Aug 2017 and continue to be abroad as student. Which ITR to use please? ITR 1 or ITR 2. Since individual is abroad for more than 182 days continuosly, does he become NRI for tax filing purposes?
