Which itr to fill

Efiling 504 views 4 replies

Hi Experts,

I have income from one rental house and also income from tax free bonds and dividend. The latter, though expempted from tax, is more than 5000. But I am not working, so I've no salary.

Which ITR should I fill ??

ITR1 does not allow me to declare the income exempted of tax and also it clearly says that if this exempted income is more than 5k the individual cannot fill itr1.

I tried filling ITR2, but there I've no option of leaving the salary part blank. It needs the employer and salary details.

Please help.

Hello Mukta

 You have to file ITR2A

You can easily fill ITR1, there is an option in ITR1 to populate exempt income, from this AY more than 5000.

But i have no salary, cause am not working. Itr2 needs mandatory employer information and salary details. Am unable to leave them blank in ITR 2..
Thanks Uttam sir, Where is this option to fill exempt income in ITR1.?? Which section??
