Which itr should be filled

Sir,

I am software enginner at private limited company. I am regular employee in that company. I got "FORM 16" from my company.

Along with this job, I give coatching at computer academy as part time job. This computer academy has given "FORM16-A" as nature of payment "194-J".

I am confused which ITR form I should fill? Should I fill ITR-1 or ITR-4 or ITR-4S?

itr 1 shud b filled as per my opinion but wait for others to reply as well

Ideally it should be ITR 4. But if the amount is low and non recurring in nature or irregular in nature you may file ITR 1. Nevertheless you will be paying balance tax 10% or 20% considering the tax bracket you fall into. So Dept. will not be deprived of revenue. But it will be case of reporting inaccurate details of income.

Take decision accordingly.

@ dipjyoti - sir,i wanted to know just for my knowledge that, itr4 is for income from proprietary business or profession and his income comprises of salary income then how can itr4 suit him?????????

Itr 1 is filled when there is income from salary, other source or one house prop.

ITR 1	For Individuals having Income from Salary & Interest only (No Business or profession)
ITR 4	For Individuals & HUFs having income from a proprietory business or profession

Since Mr. Darpan is working with computer academy, he is carring out profession of Teaching/Educational Coaching. Also Form 16A issued u/s 194J is for Fees for rendering Professional/Technical Services.

Therefore, Mr. Darpan has to file ITR-4 showing both his income from job as software enginner and income from computer academy alongside his other incomes, if any

NOTE:DO NOT FORGET TO CLAIM DEDUCTION OF SAVING BANK INTEREST U/S 80TTA

Sir, my brother was working in a collage as a regular employee till dec 2017. Now he is working in a govt institute but in contractual basis and got form 16A from here. As per the thread i get to know he need to fill ITR 4 but do he needs to sum up his salary with the previous salary or need to show his previous salary in other sources while filling the form.
