According to me Indirect Taxes By Bangar Is the Best book For understanding Service Tax & VAT & For TDS you have to refer V K Singhania For Better understandig About TDS
The following books are also good.
For Service Tax : S S Gupta
For VAT : V S Datey
All the three subjects are not covered in a single book; to the best of my knowledge.
