Whether filling of sh 1 and al 1 in itr 6 is mandatory or not
in itr 6 sh 1 and al 1 is mandatory.but before some days a circular is issued. that filling this information is not compulsory.so I am confused whether filling is compulsory or not.

In ITR 6
SH-1 is compulsory ( not applicable to section 8 of Companies Act 2013 )
AL-1 is mandatory (however if no assets/liabilities as specified under the Schedule then not required)

Yes it is compulsory for unlisted companies and shareholding are non resident then put PAN as NNNNNNONN like something which issued by the department in recent clarification

PAN of shareholder should be furnished in Schedule SH-1, if available.
However, in case the shareholder is a non-resident, having no PAN, a default value can be entered in place of PAN such as “NORES9999N”.
Similarly, in case PAN of the shareholder is not available due to any other reason, a default value can be entered in place of PAN such as “NOAVL9999N”
