Whether ao can issue notice u/s 142(1) for ay 2010-11 during fy 2017-18?

Return filed on 21.10.2011 claiming Loss
Now, AO issue a notice u/s 142(1) on 11.05.2017. My query is that whether AO can issue such notice for AY 2010-11, now?

Have you received any notice u/s. 148 before the receipt of the said notice? Refer:
Notice u/s. 142(1): Where a person has not made a return of income before the end of the relevant assessment year, the Assessing Officer may serve a notice requiring him to furnish return of income.
It can be served any time after the end of relevant assessment year.
actually there's time limitations specified for issue of 142(1) notice. however issuing of notice u/s. 142(1) (if not the case was reopened u.s. 147 ) for ay. 2010-11 is of no use .

Yes we received Notice u/s 148 also.
then there's no infirmity in issuing notice under section 142(1) after issuing 148. just ascertain that whether 148 notice was issued before March 2017
