You may take the benefit of deductions u/s 80C upto Rs.150,000/- by investing in PF, ESIC, LIC premium etc.
Also from A.Y. 2019-20 standard deduction of Rs.40,000/- is available which does not require any sort of investment underneath.
There are several other options also available.

Fixed deposit scheme for a period of minimum 5 years
Life insurance Premium paid
Interest earned through few of the National Savings Certificates are eligible for a certain amount of tax
Investment in mutual funds and equity shares, such as ULIP, Linked Saving Scheme of a Mutual Fund/UTI
Payments towards subscripttion for National Saving Certificates and Home Loan Account Scheme
Contribution to statutory PF, 15 years P.P.F.
