What ITR should i fill?

I am a FREELANCING lecturer hired by multiple colleges to lecture in hospitality subjects for which i get paid by cheques subject to a ten percent TDS under 194J.   I do not think i am a professional listed under section 44ADA

Quick Summary
A freelance lecturer, paid via cheque with TDS under 194J, is seeking guidance on which Income Tax Return (ITR) form to file. They believe they don't qualify as a professional under Section 44ADA and are struggling to find a suitable business code or section within ITR 4, preventing form validation. The discussion aims to clarify the correct ITR filing for their specific freelance lecturing income.

If you're gross receipts donot exceeds 50 lakhs in a financial year you can file presumptive basis ITR 4
FOR freelance itr 3 or itr 4 can be filled as per the condition or income source

Thanks ayusmita

My problem is that while filling in Form ITR 4 i do not have any business code that applies to me and neither is there a section for others and niether do i have a business name. If i do not fill these cells, the page is not validated and i cannot generate the X M L file

I do not believe that my work falls into any of the professional categories as specified under 44ADA such as

  1. Legal
  2. Medical
  3. Engineering or architectural
  4. Accountancy
  5. Technical consultancy
  6. Interior decoration
  7. Any other profession as notified by CBDT (eg film artistes)
