Quick Summary
For the financial year 2020-21, the TDS exemption limit for interest earned on Fixed Deposits (FDs) is £50,000 for senior citizens and £40,000 for others. To avoid TDS on FD interest, individuals can submit Form 15G or 15H, provided FD interest is their sole income. The discussion also touches upon potential alternatives to FDs for investment.

Sec 194A TDS exemption limit for Interest:-
Senior Person -50000/-
other than senior person-40000/-
and only FD interest income only then you can give form 15G /15 H respectively
