one of my friend having a construction business..he allready opted a service tax no..which shows invalid in department's site..he collected service tax from his customers but unable to pay the same..what is the solution for this??? surrender the registration n apply for new?
Sir, From your query it appears that your friend applied for Service tax registration but failed to submit the required documents with the department in time. Thus the Service tax registration number became invalid. You are advised to contact the department and apply for fresh registration. However, you need not surrender your current rregistration number as it is already invalid, therefore non-existent.
