You need to study the full act along with the rules and notifications. You will also have to study the circulars issued regarding GST from the department. For understanding legal issues you will also have to study various advance rulings and high court and supreme court judgments of writ and SLP related to GST.

You should also study case laws of excise, service tax and VAT to have better understanding of the law as GST was formed by merging all these acts and a lot of concepts are similar

To master more in GST you need to study other acts also like Contract Act, Sales of Goods Act, Tranfer of Property Act, Limitation Act to name a few along with their rules if any and case laws.
