entry tax is the tax which is payble on goods purchased in state from outside state/within the state, it is applicable on very few items specially notified by the state, it vary from state to state.

Yes. Entry tax in Karnataka is payable under the provisions of Karnataka Tax on Entry of Goods Act, 1979.

i am registrar dealer in bangalore.if i bring the goods from timal nadu i should pay the entry taxs at cheack post or i can pay the taxes will filing the vat returns.
the department is telling that we can pay the taxes wil filing the returns
please send the me section & sub sections to put the letter to department that i will pay the taxes when fil the returns.

Dear Sir,
We are manufacturer of Annealed mild steel wire. One our party has sent Raw wire for job work (i.e for conversation of raw wire has size 10.00mm to finished wire size 7.02mm) This material has been sent vide Central Exciseable challan 57F3 for job work. The Party has issued F Forms (cost of material +job work value) for the material they have recd after job work. We have also issued F Forms for their cost value. The Party has also deducted TDS on the Job work that they have paid.
The defination of Entry Tax
"The law relating to leavy of Entry Tax is the Utter Pradesh Tax on Entry Tax of Goods into Local area act 2007". It is leviable when Goods notified for leavy of Entry Tax by the governments are brought or received by a dealer into any local area for Use, Consumption or Sale therein from any place outside such local area.
