What do you expect from the upcoming BUDGET?

I expect increase in the threshold limit for non-taxable income.

I would like to know if you were the advicer to the finance minister what changes would you like to bring in this budget. How would you plan the budget.

FM should do something for industries to come out of downfall. There should be some relief package for them in the budgets. In my view there is no need to make any changes in the individual threshhold, besides FBT should be gone.

There are a few things i personally would like to change, like

• Agricultural income should be taxable income, since the real benefit goes only to the big farmers and landlords earning taxfree income in lakhs. The small farmers are even unable to earn income above threshold limit.
• Uniform tds rates should be applicable, so as to avoid confusion. Its just a mechanism to collect taxes and not to determine tax liability.

Govt. cannot tax agriculture income, they have to fight election again after 5 years.........if they do this then the seats of congress will come to under 100 from 205. Its all politics so you cannot expext big things from Govt.

Some SEZ benefits could be withdrawn.

Corporate and non corporate taxes could see some decrease.

Instead of increasing the B.E.L for individual tax.Some deductions could be introduced in savings to boost economy.

Expectation from this budget by all indians are toomuch but I don't think that there are any changes in this budget, FBT may be removed and service tax may be reduced otherwise UPA govt doesn't take any risk in personal tax during this reccession period
