Hi friends, I have qualified my PE-II in Nov 2007 and still not able to decide whether to join articleship or not as many people say that it will give value add only if you do it from BIG 4 or Top 10. There would not be any benefit if you are working with a firm which dont have good exposure( It would be equivalent to DUMMY). I am not getting any offer from either BIG 4 or Top 10 and i am confused whether to join a small firm or not. And i have my final year Exams in april and please tell me the Time limit of joining the articleship so that i will be able to appear in May,2010.

Please bring some light into this and clear my doubts.

hey Rahul don't loose ur heart if ur not able to get in to the BIG 4's. it's not the end in itself. u know what to learn the best in this profession u should always prefer a small or medium sized firm as there u'll have ur own independence and u can also get a reasonably gud exposure in a wide range of areas which u can never get in BIG 4's. In big firm's everything is so mechanical that u may never get the flexibility to apply ur own ideas and ur thoughts.

so take this as a welcome opportunity of not getting into the BIG4's and look for a small or medium sized firm which can offer u great exposure in Audits or Taxation depending on ur area of interest. There are many gud firms apart from the BIG 4's which can give u a better exposure that u may not get even in the BIG 4's.NEVER GO FOR DUMMY.

As far as the last date of registration is concerned i think it would be april 30th'2008 for u to be eligible in may 2010 exams. bt i'm not sure abt dis u may confirm it from other sources as well.

Rahul, join any firm as soon as possible because your final attempt will be delayed.

i have cleared my PE II in Nov 07 and joined articleship on 6 feb 08, i am getting my final attempt in Nov 2010 according to the letter received from the institute.

so hurry up.

Mr.Rahul,Almost all the partners and Executive belongs to B4 an and T10 are did their articleship at Small and Medium firm.From B4 and T10 you can come out with Brand value but you suppose to focus only on your domain but in other case , you can learn lot of Professional work and you can have direct contact with your Principal. This will work indirectly for qualify the course so easy and Post qulification performance.
