Quick Summary
This discussion addresses concerns about E-Way Bills generated before the coronavirus lockdown that are now stuck mid-transit. According to Notification No. 35/2020, E-Way Bills generated between 20th March and 15th April 2020, or those expiring during this period, have had their validity automatically extended to 30th April 2020. As of the discussion, no further extensions beyond this date had been officially announced, though it was anticipated due to ongoing logistical challenges.
If you have prepared the E-way Bill after 20.03.2020 to 15.04.2020 or the validity expires during the said period, then the validity of all such E-way Bills have been extended to 30.04.2020 as per Notification No. 35/2020 - Central Tax, dated 03.04.2020.
If your e way bill is going to expire during the lockdown period (between 20/03/2020 to 15/04/2020), then it is deemed to be valid upto 30/04/2020 as per the recent Notification No.35/2020 dated 03.04.2020
Till date No Notification issued regarding further EXTENSION OF E-Way Bill. I think the Government will extend it since lots of trucks are stuck in the High Way.
As of now Notification No. 35/2020 - Central Tax, dated 03.04.2020 is applicable i.e. "where an E-Way Bill has been generated under rule 138 of the CGST, 2017 and its period of validity expires during the period 20.03.2020 to 15.04.2020, the validity period of such e-way bill shall be deemed to have been EXTENDED till the 30.04.2020."
Best Wishes...
