Warrenty period replacement

Dear All

Our is a automachine Manufacture company we have give a warranty period for 1 year. with this period if any spares is replace free of cost we are registered under the central excise

1) if the spare is free replacement how do we account in the books of accounts. and RG 23, ER1 & ER5 and under Karnataka VAT

2) some brought goods are purchased with VAT invoice were central excise input is not involved. In this case how do we account in the books whether it will effect the Central Excise and how it effect in VAT returns.

 

Kindly do the needful at the earliest I have kept the things pending

You must have approved/authorised agents in each state - area wise-who are also registered under VAT Acts and CST Act. Such agents can replace the defective parts received from customers free of cost against warranty with your approval. Replacements of this kind are to be supported by copies of invoice,ID , warranty card and challan for issues.Against such claims made by an agent you can send replaced parts on stock transfer. These stock transfers areto be supported by F forms raised on-line.You will have to reverse 2% of the input tax credit claimed in returns related to goods sent on stock transfer.This warranty policy is to be declared to all agents through an official letter with guidelines.........mjk
