i am downloading itr from income tax efiling site. moment it is downloaded my antivirus shows it as virus and quarantines it. so macro cannot run and itr becomes useless .what to do? plz advise

To be sure lets check authenticity of that alert, upload it on Virus total .com where the file will be scanned by over 40 scanners.
If it is legit, add an exception to your antivirus program, check in the settings
You can also try java utility.
Ensure you are downloading it from secure site of the income tax department... there may be many sites directing you to look alike fake sites, please exercise caution...!!

that is not a genuine alert..it is true that file contains Macro but it is not harmful to PC in any way...you can simply put this to exclusion list to go ahed..
