Whenever we purchase anything from a small shop, or some small time dealer , company he puts VAT in his bill, but in the bill there is no legal registration number of anything, like CST, etc, VAT etc, my query is if someone bills you VAT in the bill how to confirm that he really will pay that VAT to govt, because there is possibility that he might charge VAT from us and not pay at all and not show the bill in his records,,,
Yes you are right but we can not do anything but check online that the dealer is register with Sales Tax Department by entering/putting his registeration number (TIN) on website of respective state sales tax website.

In some states departments varify the Input tax which you have caimed as input and if input does not verified then depatment will revers the input credit. . In some states for input claim we need to submit Input Tax certificates which has to obtained from vendors, Like-in haryana we need to submit Form C-4 & jharkhand JVAT 404 .
