Vat retail invoice

I have recently started a small business. I want to know whether it is mandatory for me to mention the rate of VAT on the retail invoice I send to customers with their orders, or whether mentioning price inclusive of VAT is suficient.

I am selling to unregistered customers who are not VAT dealers.

Thanks

  Mr Karan,

In most of the states it is permitted to include tax in the invoice price. You may show in your accounts these two items viz price and tax seperately......mjk

Okk., so if its retail invoice.., i think that wont go for any penalty.. You can show your sale price inclusive of VAT..

Yes it can be done. You should indicate in the invoice that the' amounts charged are inclusive of VAT at applicable rates'  ......mjk
