In the state of Karnataka, is there any rule to pay Rs. 2,500/- per year towards renewal fees of vat registration. If yes, will it pay 2,500/- per branch in the state? If we have 1 godown and 1 office in Bangalore and another godown in diff. city, should I pay 7,500/- as informed by our consultant. I am working in the pvt. ltd. co.

Pls. advice.

Dear Anoop, first of all there is no renewal fee under KVAT. Discuss clearly with your STP. I think you have confused that with Profession tax. PT is Rs 2500/- if sales exceeds Rs 25,00,000- p.a, no matter how many branches or offices you are owning, just remitt Rs 2500 PT and submit the copy of the same in respective VAT offices..
