In Karnataka as per entries nos 3 and 73 of III schedule processed and frozen food products such as fruits,vegetables,juices,meat,poultry,fish are chargeable @ 5.5% VAT . In TN as entries of Part B of First schedule ,entries no 51 and 108 processed and frozen foods such as above are chargeable @ 5% VAT.Certain other products like milk products,chapati and parotha,masala powders etc are covered in different entries.......mjk
