To sell on any online platform (except a few) you need to have VAT / CST registered numbers.

since you are willing to sell vat exempted goods you can only sell books and unstiched cloths.

to survive in books cateogory is difficult.because if you serach for a single book there are more than 20 sellers and for some famous books there are more than 100 sellers which are cutting each other price in order to get sales . so sourcing of your books and cost at which you can obtain must be as low as posssible. so look into this. secondly logistics cost is so high that will eat almost all your profit.

second is unstiched cloths. e commerec is mailny targeted at young group who generally do not buy unstiched cloth. they buy stiched material and get ready products. so sale from these is to be analysed properly.

yes u can use your pan to start this business. besides this you will be also requiered to submit bank account details.

for online business you can start from anywhere be it your apartmrnt or your office.

if you are willing to go for more than vat exempted goods i would advise to invest approx 1 lakhs in stock and proper photoshoot in oreder to get proper response from it . otherwise you may get demorolise.

for long term and visiblity of your item it is recomended to get your brand registered. nut in initial days without brand registration will also do.

for vat exempted good sthere is no tax rules to follow . just maintain the record of your purchase and sale.

for vatable good you need to file quaterly returns
