Vat amnesty
Sales Tax Amnesty Scheme 2014 has been introduced for the Dealer who has discontinued his business but not cancelled RC and even not paid tax may now pay tax without interest and penalty and may file return and get RC cancelled. Reference Cir No. T3 of 2014 dtd 24/1/2014.

Every year commercial tax departments of various states announce some amnesty schemes,for payment of old arears,taking up new registration,cancelling old and dead registrations,assessments etc with some concessions.etc. These policies help in cleaning of records as much as possible and reduces departmental work.Similar measures are introduced in IT,ST and Excise also......mjk
