From the Date of Cheque Issued.

If say chq is issued on 1/1/2011 then it must be be deposited on or before 30/6/2011.

Chqs are normally valid for 6 months .

Dear Miss Nidhi,

In some cheques it is written that cheques must be presented within 2/3/4,etc. months. So, validity period comes into play.

You mostly find this in Dividend Warrants received from Companies. Check Dividend Cheques, it is written validity period on it.

If nothing is mentioned on cheque regarding validity, then it must be presented within 6 months from the date mentioned on cheque.

I hope you got it.
