X sends goods costing Rs. 200000 to Y. 3/5th of the goods were sold by consignee for 140000. commission 2% on sales plus 20% of gross sales less all commission exceeds cost price. calculate amount of commission.

commision of 2% = 140000*20%

                                  =7000rs

commission of 20%

let assume commision is x

so,

x= 0.2{140000-(120000-7000-x}

so x will be 4500

here 120000 is d cost ie 200000*3/5=120000

so totalcommission=7000+4500

                                   =11500rs

ok shweta

commision of 2% = 140000*2%

                              =2800rs

commission of 20% let assume commision is x so,

x= 0.2{140000-120000-2800-x}

so x will be 2866 ]

here 120000 is d cost ie 200000*3/5=120000

so totalcommission=2800+2867

                                 =5667rs

Thanks a lot shweta..yes
