In the Part - A General sheet of the 2017_ITR2_PR5 (which was uploaded recently on the e-filing portal), I am facing two issues:

1. After selecting Status as Individual, the form does not allow to enter Aadhaar Number. (Unprotected sheet)

2. After entering the residential status as Resident, the form does not allow to enter answer to the question: "Do you want to claim the benefit u/s 115H (Applicable to Resident)? (Unprotected sheet)

lodge a complaint at efilingwebmanager @ incometax.gov.in

I have already done the same. May be by receving so many same type queries they will resolve it at the earliest.

Same problem faced by me too. I have lodged a complaint with efilingwebmanager @ incometax.gov.in

Cant get through their help line.

I hope PR3 is restored. I am ready with that

Same problem on other pages like medical insurance amt.

Hi,

In ITR-2 (PR5) there is no option to select YES or NO for "do you want to claim the benefit u/s 115H (Applicable to Resident)? (Unprotected sheet).  And if you leave that as it is, you cannot validate the page and hence X M L cannot be created even after so many days of hard work in filling up the entire range of sheets.  Has anyone faced the same and found a way out of it ?  Please share your experience if you had also similar hindrance blocking the process of X M L creation.

Dear all, kindly fill the pdf utility. There is no such problem in that utility. Problems are in excel utility.

Please use Java utility instead of Excel utility.yes

This is available to be filled in the Part A - General Tab, right under Residential Status - If Resident, please mark it as No, even if it doesnt show as a mandatory cell (in red). Am using PR5 ver of ITR2.

I MEANT TO SAY JAVA UTILITY....

I faced same problem of "Do you want to claim the benefit u/s 115H".

SOLUTION : Select Residential Status as other than Resident. This will enable the unprotected (grey) field. Select as "NO". Now select as "RES - RESIDENT" again in the field. Problem is solved !!!

Dear Mr Abhay Bakshi - I changed my resident status and then tried to answer "Do you want to claim the benefit u/s115H" still the worksheet does not allow to answer. The field needs to be unprotected. For that password is required.

Similar problem is faced at the time of filling mediclaim amount in VIA.

If anyone has submitted itr2 Ay 2017-18, please guide/help.

Just click on resident / Non resident status and then it will appear.

I had the similar problem yesterday while filing the return. please reopen the file, ensure the macros are active, then change the status from individual to "select" or "HUF" and then again change the status back to "Individual". Now you will se the cell has turned green. Happy filing :)
