Our Salary structure revised Uniform Maintenance allow, (Company Have Uniform)changed to laundry Allow. Now Our Accountant informed that Laundry Allow not consider for Income tax exemption, is this correct or not ? Can any one Answer this question.

section 10 (14) (i) uniform allowance is exempt to the extent of actual amount of expenditure.
but in your case if we talk particularly laundry allowance it is taxable
