Quick Summary
If you haven't filed your IT returns for the past five years but have TDS amounts, you may be able to claim them. However, the TDS can only be claimed in the year the corresponding income was declared for tax. You'll need to refer to Section 199 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, and may require authorisation from the commissioner to file a claim.

The TDS can be claimed in the year in which the corresponding income is offered to tax. Please refer section 199 of the Income-tax Act, 1961

While filing return TDS can be claimed but requisition should be obtained from commissioner
