Hi Devakinandan,
Yes, recently the Income Tax e-filing portal has restricted filing of audited ITRs (like ITR-3, ITR-4 with audit) without a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC). Filing with Aadhar OTP is now generally allowed only for non-audited returns.
What you can do:
-
Use DSC for Filing:
For audited returns, the portal mandates signing the return with a valid DSC (Class 2 or Class 3) of the taxpayer or authorized signatory.
-
Check Portal Updates:
Sometimes portal updates cause temporary glitches. Clear cache, try different browsers, or check again after a day.
-
Offline Utility + DSC:
You can prepare the return using the offline utility and then upload it on the portal and sign using DSC.
-
If you don’t have DSC:
You can apply for one through certified agencies (e.g., eMudhra, Sify). It usually takes 1-3 days.
No current option to file audited returns via Aadhar OTP. If you want, I can guide you step-by-step to get a DSC and file the audited return.
