Your CA might be referring to the fact that the CompuTax software hasn't been updated yet to accommodate the latest income tax return (ITR) filing requirements for the current assessment year.

CompuTax is a popular tax filing software in India that helps with computation of tax, preparation of income tax and wealth tax returns, and e-filing of returns.

However, if it's not updated, there are alternative options you can consider: - *ClearTax*: A popular online platform for e-filing income tax returns, which allows you to file ITRs for various income sources, including salary, house property, and capital gains.

ClearTax also offers features like tax planning, tax-saving investments, and GST compliance. - *TaxCloudIndia*: Another online platform that enables taxpayers to file their ITRs and offers features like auto-population of tax details, tax calculation, and e-verification. - *Income Tax e-Filing Portal*: You can also file your ITR directly on the official income tax e-filing portal (incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in) using your PAN-based login credentials. This portal allows you to file returns online or offline using Excel utilities. To explore these alternatives, you can: -

Visit the ClearTax or TaxCloudIndia websites to learn more about their services and file your ITR - Log in to the income tax e-filing portal to file your return directly -

Consult with your CA to determine the best approach for your specific situation Keep in mind that the ITR filing deadline for the current assessment year is September 15, 2025, but interest charges may apply if taxes are paid after July 31, 2025.
